SVCC: Mission and Goals

Our mission is to provide affordable ICT training and services to local people, especially members of disadvantaged groups who wouldn't otherwise have access to technology.

We conduct all of our trainings in such a way that knowledge is transferred into and within our communities from one student generation to the next, through our already approved tutor-system. The trainings are given in the languages Nepali, Tharu and English.

We also aim to build up easily accessible, affordable communication services for our communities. These range from Voice over IP to website and flyer production, Internet access, research, letter writing, scanning, and fax service. Furthermore, SVCC's planned multimedia service centre shall function as meeting place for the most different members of our community. All of them will have equal access to our services.

We will charge small fees for our services and trainings. These will, however, always be tailored to the income situation of our students and service center users. 
On the long term, Silicon Village Computer Centre strives to finance itself by means of these paid services.
